Transform your compassion into competence with the neuroscience-backed skills to lead survivors toward healing and renewal
The Mental Health Crisis Is Growing
THE NEED IS URGENT
USING GROUNDBREAKING RESEARCH FROM DR. BESSEL VAL DER KOLK, DAN SIEGEL AND STEPHEN PORGES.
Tabor College’s Master of Education in Neuroscience and Trauma examines the brain and body's responses to stress, pain, and healing. Inspired by Porges’s
Polyvagal Theory, Seigel’s “Whole Brain Child” and van der Kolk's "The Body Keeps the Score," the program aids professionals in understanding trauma's impact on learning, behavior, and health.
Students learn to foster growth, create safe learning
environments, and support
youth in distress with
compassion.
Across classrooms, counseling offices, foster homes, and churches, trauma is shaping behavior, relationships, and learning. Chronic stress, neglect, abuse, anxiety, and attachment disruption all impact lives. The demand for professionals who understand what trauma does to the brain has never been greater.
Many helping professionals feel this tension:
“Do you find yourself wishing you could do more to help those who have suffered neglect or abuse?”
Compassion matters. But understanding how trauma reshapes the brain is what allows healing to begin.
At Tabor College, we have responded to the crisis by developing a program tailored to those with a desire to help survivors of trauma thrive.

STUDENT IMPACT
When Kelly Tyson adopted three children who had experienced trauma, she knew love alone was not enough. She needed deeper understanding.
Through Tabor’s M.Ed. in Neuroscience and Trauma, she gained new insight into how trauma shapes behavior and healing. Today she leads BrainTLC, supporting adoptive families in crisis with tools grounded in neuroscience and faith.
“This program transformed how I see the brain, behavior, and hope. It gave me practical tools I use every day.”
